Equipment Recommendations for Your Plant-Based Kitchen
I am often asked what kind of kitchen equipment to buy. Here are links to the tools and machines I own, with details on why I like what I have, the pros and cons, and considerations if you have different needs. I personally use everything I recommend.
Buying items through my links supports my work. Thank you.
I don’t use an electric juicer all that often, but it’s nice to have a small, reliable electric juicer when you have to juice, say, 3 or more lemons, limes, or oranges. I do not have a big, powerful juicer for vegetables and fruits (not my thing), so all I need is this modest juicer for citrus.
I drink a lot of tea and need water at various temperatures for black, green, and herbal. I have owned expensive models before, but they don’t tend to last, so I decided to buy something more modest and cross my fingers that it will last (it has so far!). This one gets good ratings and hasn’t disappointed me yet!
See the Instant Pot model that I own, plus an option for a smaller Instant Pot. I also own an air-fryer top for my Instant Pot, which they no longer sell separately, but you can buy an Instant Pot with two tops currently: the normal one and an air-fryer top. I share my two favorite Instant Pot accessories as well.
For my needs, it’s critical to have 3 different blenders, although you could get by without a stick (immersion) blender. I use at least one blender everyday and need reliable, powerful models that don’t break the bank. I provide strategies for finding a high-speed blender at a good price.
Cuisinart has been making food processors for 50 years, and it shows — they have kept what works best and modified what could be improved. My recent replacement of my 1985 food processor proves the point. Read about the features I love and ways you can look for a good deal.
If you buy more than a quart of plant-based milk per week, you may want to invest in a soy- and nut-milk maker. The payback time may be shorter than you think. I share the model I own, the pros and cons of making your own plant-based milk, and the reasons why I love my SoyaJoy and my milk-making routine.
