Holiday Gift Ideas
At the holidays, we look for delight in the faces of loved ones when they open our gifts. And what a bonus if we are surprised ourselves by one or two presents that we didn't know we needed until we got them.
Here are some ideas for gifts you can give or request for yourself. Of course they are all related to plant-based cooking and eating. My suggestions range from homemade treats to a $160+ appliance, with many levels in between.
Happy gift-giving and gift-receiving!

Appliances
Instant Pot
Nutribullet (good for much more than smoothies)
Immersion (stick) blender (I recommend the kind that comes with a mini-chopper accessory)
Food processor (I recommend Cuisinart, but I am biased.)
Other kitchen gifts
A nice Dutch oven (I recommend anodized aluminum or enameled cast iron, 6 quarts)
Floor mat (= standing mat) for the kitchen
Measuring cup set with 2/3 and 3/4 cup measures
Pack of parchment paper for half-sheet pans, or silicone cookie-sheet liners
Digital kitchen timer (I like this one best because you can punch in the numbers)
Silicone, nylon, or cotton mesh bags for produce
Silicone lids for bowls
Herbs in small pots (basil, thyme, rosemary, for example)
Stocking stuffers
A jar of good balsamic vinegar (“grape must” should be the first listed ingredient)
Serrated peeler
Spider strainer
Silicone spatulas
A jar or tin of smoked paprika (the tins from Spain are pretty and not that much more)
A jar of tahini or Chinese roasted sesame paste
Nut bag (to strain nut-based milks)
